WHY KENYA

Kenya is a key player in East Africa and is a vital communications and logistics hub. The country has an important Indian Ocean port and strategic land borders with Ethiopia, South Sudan, Uganda, Tanzania and Somalia. MIE Groups has chosen Nairobi the capital of Kenya as the host city of the 4th edition of Africa Technology Show (AFTS) 2024. The first edition of AFTS Morocco gathered more than 150 high-quality international manufacturers from different industries Smart Cities, Fintech, Consumer Technology and Industry 4.0. The exhibitors were all delighted as they meet new potential business partners, and we aim to host the 4th edition of AFTS in Nairobi for the 2nd time, that benefit ICT sector in Kenya which will be as successful as the previous editions in North Africa.


AFTS TECH STATS

The US$5.2-Trillion GLOBAL INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) Industry is vital for Africa’s Future. The total telecoms service revenue in MENA will grow at a CAGR of 1% between 2018 and 2024, and will reach US$ 69.3-billion in 2024, up from US$ 62.0-billion in 2018. The total telecoms retail revenue will grow at a moderate rate in MENA, driven mainly by fixed and mobile data services. Number of TECH HUBS over Africa has grown over 40% in the past few years and there are now 618 active hubs on the continent of which Kenya has 50 tech hubs. Smart connections reached 500 million by 2020, registered mobile money accounts has reached 280-million.
